Snapshots of 2007
As the new year dawns, thought I'd recap my wonderful 2007 in the form of a few pictures.
Langkawi, Dec 07
My beloved family -
Mummy, my best friend and confidante
Wenshi, my companion in computer games/tv shows/unifying-against-parents
Daddy, our tireless provider and reason why I have such healthy arguing skills *haha*
Despite the nagging, squabbles and differences - I cannot ask for a better family other than that which I have been given. I am blessed.
Workplace, Dec 07
My dearest colleagues -
Thank you for your support, camaraderie, and thank you:
Lin, for your kind heart and beautiful personality
Win, for all the things we have in common and your delightfully sarcastic humour
Jo, for your always cheery disposition and listening ear
Cin, for your unique worldview and many sacrifices
Joy, for your adorable moments and hilarious comments
Joal, for being a laugh every minute and a joy to have around
John, for your very-dry humour accompanied with such a straight face
Joel, for being a big brother even though you are younger than ALL of us!
Steph, for your infectious laughter and poking ;)
You are not only my colleagues; you are my friends. You make working life bearable and *gasp* even enjoyable! To those who are leaving, you are dearly loved and will be dearly missed.

Korea, March 07
Holidays/Adventures -
Travelling, I think, will always be my favourite hobby. Korea, US, Singapore, all the little little places around Malaysia... slowly but surely I am seeing different parts of the world!

Because someone is camera-shy, here is a random picture that vaguely represents someone very important to me. Heehee. ^^ For the first time in my 24 years of life, I have a boyfriend! Ahahah... I am content. You make me so very happy. :)
All in all, 2007, you have been good to me.
Or rather - God, you have been good to me.
It's been a wonderful journey, a rollercoaster ride of unique experiences, and I look forward to a 2008 full of hope, joy and love!

Mmm I love long holidays!
My family, being the holiday-loving-family that it is, decided to go on our last family holiday of 2007 to the sun-soaked Island of Langkawi!
The last time I visited Langkawi was when I was 7 or 8, so you can imagine how much it has changed. Among other things, we:
* Sat on cable cars
* Walked on a suspension bridge
* Visited a bat cave where there were thousands of bats and lots of guano (thankfully none on me)
* Sailed via boat under a formerly crocodile-infested cave
* Went to a fish farm
* Watched eagles getting fed (which is very ecologically unhealthy for the eagles, who have lost their natural ability to hunt)
* Ate at The Loaf (opened by Mahathir and some Japanese dude)
* Saw monkeys and baby monkeys and monkeys attacking humans for food. GANAS!
* Swam in the sea
* Swam in the "Lake of the Pregnant Maiden"
* Swam in the swimming pool :p
* Went Island hopping
* Took a lot of speed boat rides, SO NICE
* Went to the Mahsuri Mausoleum (have always remembered the tragic story of her spilling white blood coz she was innocent and falsely-accused)
* Got browner and browner under the glaring sun
Yup, that's pretty much it. I'll let the pictures do the talking!

This is my stupid brother attempting to pull me down... Hence the awkward pose.

What do you do when your parents are sleeping and you're not supposed to make any noise? You make silly faces and act Lala in front of the camera, of course!
Way above sea level. Such a pretty view.
Pristine waters at Beras Basah Beach.
That's all folks. Christmas tomorrow! :)
Have yourself a merry little Christmas
Let your heart be bright
Soon all of your troubles will be out of sight
So have yourself, a merry little Christmas night...

Thank God
What a weekend I had. Long story short, we were enroute to our Young Adults Fellowship camp, of which I was part of the organising committee. On the way down from Genting, there's this really dangerous and steep turn where road signs warn you to slow down and switch to a lower gear... we were running late, and my friend was driving a bit too fast...
She lost control of the car and it started skidding to the left... she couldn't break (and we were dangerously close to the side and dangerously close to plunging down the ravine)... and so she swerved right and crashed into the concrete divider instead, causing the car to turn 180 degrees.
Talk about freaking scary. I don't remember whether I was saying anything/screaming; I just remember the scary feeling of total loss of control... and I remember thinking "WHY OH WHY is the car not STOPPING?!?!!?"
But really, truly, Thank God. So much worse could have happened, and we survived completely intact - friend with a slightly twisted wrist and me with a slightly sore neck. Thank God that there were no cars behind us, thank God that my friend had the presence of mind to swerve right and crash us to a stop, thank God that no one was hurt.
The camp was also an exercise in faith, where I experienced the feeling of being out of my comfort zone, after I haven't experienced it in such a long time. All I can say is, "many are the plans in a man's heart, but God's purpose will prevail". :) God is good!
Thank God for old friends...
And new friends...

And family...

And all that I hold dear.

Whoever you are, if you're reading this - thank God for you!
