Savage Garden

I took a trip down memory lane today, when mummy and I listened to the hailed pop duo Savage Garden on the way to the moon (i mean, workplace) and back.

Man. What an era.
Those were the days.

It was the first concert I attended - pure adrenaline, way back when pop was catchy and melodious and the lyrics meant something (unlike the hiphop-infused monotonous crap they have nowadays e.g., Party Like a Rockstar, Umbrella-ella-ella-what-on-earth-are-you-singing). I remember seeing Darren Hayes from afar, sashaying up and down the stage-walkway, oozing style and confidence. I remember hearing the crowd scream as Daniel Jones made wonderful music on his guitar, and then threw his guitar picks into the crowd, much to the fangirls' joy.

Daniel Jones was my very first pop-star-idol. I loved him. Haha. I just amazed me that he could write such beautiful melodies that could compliment Darren's lyrics so well.

To the Moon and Back

She can't remember a time when she felt needed
If love was red then she was color blind
All her friends, well they've been trialed for treason
And crimes that were never defined
She's saying, "Love is like a barren place,
And reaching out for human faith is
It's like a journey I just don't have a map for"

Tears of Pearls

Is love really the tragedy the way you might describe?
Or would a thousand lovers still leave you cold inside?
Make you cry... These tears of pearls

All these mixed emotions we keep locked away like stolen pearls
Stolen pearl devotions we keep locked away from all the world

We twist and turn where angels burn
Like fallen soldiers we will learn
Once forgotten, twice removed
Love will be the death...
The death of you

Santa Monica

But on the telephone line
I am anyone
I am anything I want to be
I could be a super model or Norman Mailer
And you wouldn't know the difference
On the telephone line,
I am any height
I am any age I want to be
I could be a caped crusader, or space invader
And you wouldn't know the difference
Or would you?
